Hepatitis Scotland: Hepatitis See National Photography Competition


Promoter:

The promoter is Hepatitis Scotland, hosted by the Scottish Drugs Forum (SDF); a company limited by guarantee, registration no. 106295 with charitable status and is also a registered Scottish charity, registered SC 008075. Hepatitis Scotland’s registered office is at 91 Mitchell Street, Glasgow, G1 3LN, United Kingdom.

Hepatitis Scotland is hosting a competition on the landing page http://www.hepcscot.org/HepatitisSee (the “Competition”.) By entering the Competition, all participants agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

 

§ 1 Competition

1. The Competition commences at 00:01 CET on 5 June 2017 and ends at 23:59 CET on 14 July 2017 (“Competition Period”). Entries outwith the Competition Period will not be eligible to win the prize.

2. Participation is free of charge. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter the Competition. Subscribing to the newsletter will not increase a participant’s chances of winning.

3. Participants are eligible to participate in the Competition if they are resident in Scotland and over the age of 18.

 

§ 2 Mechanics of the Competition

1. The participation in the Competition consists in submitting a digital photography entry which represents how the participant experiences attitudes of others towards him or her as someone living with hepatitis C and/or how the participant views himself/herself as someone living with hepatitis C. The subject of the photo submitted as an entry must be of the participant, or of the participant’s view.

2. The entry must be uploaded on the website http://www.hepcscot.org/HepatitisSee and the participant must complete the competition form, including a title and a description about what the entry says about identity and stigma (maximum 500 words). By entering the Competition, the participant acknowledge he/she has read and signed the consent form and media release, and has read the Terms and Conditions of the Competition and indicates his/her agreement to be bound by these.

3. To be eligible, the participant must upload and fill in the competition form during the Competition Period and according to the schedule under 4 below. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any incomplete, invalid, altered or illegible information or that which fails to be properly submitted. Proof of sending does not constitute proof of receipt.

4. One winner of the Competition, gathered from public votes on the 18 and 19 Jully 2017, will be announced on 28 July 2017.

5. The prize of this Competition consists of £250 digital photography vouchers.

6. The Promoter reserves the right to provide an alternative prize of equal value or amend the Terms and Conditions in the event of reasonably unforeseen circumstances.

7. The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and there are no cash alternatives. Rejecting the prize or the Terms and Conditions will result in the prize being withheld.

8. The winner will be notified via e-mail, and must contact Hepatitis Scotland confirming his/her personal data necessary to claim the prize. If the prize is not claimed within 14 days following Hepatitis Scotland’s notification, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and choose an alternative winner.

9. The Promoter reserves the right to alter or cancel this Competition or update and/or amend these Terms and Conditions in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Any changes to the Competition will be notified by the Promoter to participants as soon as possible.

10. The Promoter reserves the right in its reasonable discretion to disqualify any person whose conduct is contrary to the nature of these Terms and Conditions or the intention of the Competition. In this regard, the Promoter reserves the right to make reasonable enquiries to verify that these Terms and Conditions have been complied with in all respects.

11. The Promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

§ 3 Participants / Exclusion from Competition

1. Employees of the promoter and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the Competition shall be excluded from the Competition. Personal information must be entered correctly and completely.

2. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

3. Participants using unauthorised or deceptive means to manipulate the system in order to give themselves a competitive edge will also be excluded from the Competition. In this case, the winner will see their right to the prize denied, which will be reclaimed if necessary. Hepatitis Scotland reserves the right to disqualify and exclude any participant for any reason at their discretion. In this case, the excluded participant will not be eligible to win.

 

§ 4 Premature closure of Competition

Hepatitis Scotland reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any time without prior notice. Hepatitis Scotland may cancel the Competition in the case of technical issues (e.g. computer viruses, manipulation or hard/software errors) or if, due to legal reasons, the Competition cannot be properly implemented. Should a participant be cause for the cancellation of the Competition, Hepatitis Scotland may demand compensation for damages.

 

§ 5 Data protection

1. By entering this Competition, participants agree to supply Hepatitis Scotland with any and all information required for the organisation of the Competition and granting of the prize.

2. The participant’s personal information will only be used for participating in and further development of the Competition. Only the participant’s name, either in form of full name, first name, or pseudonym as per request, and his/her entry will be publicly available at a public exhibition on 28 July 2017.

3. The participant’s personal information is saved, used and processed according to all relevant laws. Information is not given to any third parties not involved in the Competition’s implementation or management. The exception to this rule is that, if necessary, information may be disclosed to competent authorities in compliance with statutory obligations or to third parties involved in granting the prize, such as courier companies.

4. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name, either in form of full name, first name, or pseudonym as per request, and entry in any publicity material generated from the Competition.

5. If requested, Hepatitis Scotland will inform participants of the personal information submitted during the Competition that remains stored on its system and will amend, complete or delete any such at their request. In this case, a written notification will suffice, sent to carissac@hepatitisscotland.org.uk. Hepatitis Scotland will investigate this as quickly as possible unless they do not have the capacity to do so. In this case, Hepatitis Scotland will simply delete the individual’s information.

 

§ 6 Responsibility for Content

1. Participants are entirely responsible for all content they submit for the Competition. If the participant has submitted a photo, design or other material, he/she must guarantee that the material submitted is not illegal, offensive or damaging in any way and could not be construed as libel towards third parties. Submission of material not owned by the participant and protected by copyright laws is not permitted. Content that does not comply with the Competition Terms and Conditions may be altered or removed without prior warning, and the participant will be disqualified from the Competition and not be eligible to win.

2. Hepatitis Scotland will not be held liable in the case of a participant’s infringement of third party rights and any incurring legal disputes. Hepatitis Scotland is also not responsible for any incurring legal fees.

 

§ 7 Liability

Hepatitis Scotland shall use its reasonable endeavours in the organisation and management of this Competition. If, however, damages occur resulting from the Competition itself, from publishing the winner’s name or for any other reason, Hepatitis Scotland will accept no liability. Furthermore, Hepatitis Scotland takes no responsibility for errors or damages that may occur during delivery of the prize. Hepatitis Scotland takes no responsibility for potential print or spelling mistakes, as well as other similar errors of any other kind in published material.

 

§ 8 Other

1. Hepatitis Scotland acts in accordance with the statutory Terms and Conditions for Competitions.

2. Participants wishing to make a complaint regarding the Competition should submit such via email to carissac@hepatitisscotland.org.uk. Hepatitis Scotland will endeavour to reply as quickly as possible.
